Tom Brevoort is praising John Romita Jr in his blog:

Somebody asked me a couple days ago who I felt exemplified the Marvel style of storytelling these days–who I’d name as the modern-day successor to guys like John Buscema.

That’s an easy question: John Romita Jr, no doubt.

There are guys who can draw prettier, there are guys who are maybe better draftsmen, whose stuff looks more kinetic. But in terms of being able to deliver both power and subtlety, of being able to tell a story that communicates directly on a visual level, JRJR is the man.

Baaahhh… J.R. jr’s art has never impressed me. I think Eternals is the best he’s done, but still every character has spagetti-hair. All of his characters look similar – super bulky with square fingers, often tentacles of some kind, and spagetti-noodle hair. I think it’s an OK style for Hulk – since he’s already bulky, but overall I don’t like it. He STUNK on the Sentry book!
