Who Wants To Be A Superhero Scam

Wow I’m pissed. So it seems “Who Wants To Be A Superhero” was cast before the last three casting calls were held. Not only that but Sci-Fi has been hiring actual actors to be on the show.

Sci-Fi casted the show by posting on craigs lists and acting websites looking for SAG and non-SAG actors for the show. Here is a sample listing:

Casting Call : Who Wants to Be a Superhero
Company: Sci Fi Network
State: CA
Posted On: Feb 13, 07 Expires On: Mar 1, 07

Description:
We are looking for our Cast Hottie! You must be at least 18 and be available for shoot dates through April. You will be paid a weekly stipen, live in the mansion, as well as win a cash prize for this 2nd season, elimination show.

Please send one headshot, or close up photo, along with any LA Casting or Myspace.com links. Interest in comics, sci fi and fantasy and action films are a big plus. This show brings you a HUGE online presence as well as great material for your acting or hosting real. We welcome SAG and non-SAG actors.

I cannot link to post above because it was pulled. But here is another one that’s similar and another.

As to how I know the show was cast was filled before auditions were even completed? I sent a question to the casting office a day after my audition (before the rest of the location auditions were done) and received a reply saying “Thanks! Casting is done.”

Of course a lot of you have read blog posts or seen You Tube videos of people saying they were flown out to LA for a call back. These call backs are legit and they aren’t legit. They are legit in the sense that people were flown to LA but it was just so the show could have footage for the first episode. They needed random people being interviewed by Stan Lee.

So I’m pissed that “Who Wants To Be A Superhero” is all shadey. I know reality TV isn’t REAL per say, but at least most reality tv shows are legit. I don’t plan on watching this comming season.

Updated here with another post. It seems Feedback from last season was a SAG actor!

Hmmm… I thought that the last season seemed pretty staged. Guess I was right–and more of the same for this season.
