While the rest of the blogsphere drools over the above pic (with the exception of Jim Smash who only half drooled because he doesn’t like anything) I’ll admit it: “G.I. Joe” is overrated. Keep in mind I’m a child of the 80′s and I grew up on the cartoon… yet I’m still dogging it. I hope the movie stays away from source material and instead being an action oriented summer tent-pole flick they actually add in some character development and growth (but we all know that won’t happen).

Oh, and the comic was so much better than the cartoon. The cartoon was horrible! Even as a kid, who loved the comic and toys, I couldn’t stand watching the cartoon. I, too, would love to see a fantastic action movie with character development and growth and story… but instead, I think we’re going to get crap – it IS being directed by Stephen “Van Helsing” Sommers, after all.
