With My Freeze Ray…

Here is my favorite song from “Dr. Horrible.” It also happens to be the very first song so if you watch it… no spoilers.

“Lost” uses “Alias” Music

Filed under: TV — Scott King at 12:14 am on Thursday, July 31, 2008

I’ve been re-watching “Alias” and I’ve come to realize that some of “Losts” most well known music queues are exactly ones used on “Alias.” This isn’t as scandalous as it is sounds since both shows have the same creator and composer. It’s just weird watching Jennifer Garner kicking ass in an action scene to the same music that plays when the smoke-monster appears.

“Project Runway” Drama

Bravo has taken the Weinsteins to court about “Project Runway” jumping to Lifetime.  As a result some interesting things have come out. For example Tim gun didn’t get paid a single penny during the show’s first season and then only made $2,500 per episode for the second season.

Austin Powers 4?

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 12:14 am on Thursday, July 31, 2008

After the disaster that was “Love Guru,” Mike Myers has decided to revive the Austin Powers franchise. Probably because he couldn’t get work anywhere else.

I’m told that Mike Myers has started writing Austin Powers 4 which will be an homage to his father. “It’s very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life,” an insider tells me. As Myers has previously said, this fourth installment of the super spy spoof movie series will focus on Austin’s arch-villain Dr. Evil, who was based on Blofeld of the Bond films. But what hasn’t been known is that the AP4 plot is really about Dr. Evil and his son. Myers is penning his idea with Baby Mama’s Mike McCullers, who collaborated with Myers on Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers 3: Goldmember.

Evil Dead 4

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 12:13 am on Thursday, July 31, 2008

Now this is a sequel I’d see. Bruce Campbel rules and if he and Sam Raimi do a new “Evil Dead” I’m so seeing it in the theater. As to the likely hood of a sequel… Raimi says it’s in the works:

“I love working with Bruce Campbell and he’s like Allison [Lohman, star of Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell]. He’s super willing to do anything to make it right. He’s a very funny guy, but mostly he’s got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right, so I would love to work with Bruce again because I’d love to test those limits. I’d love to make another Evil Dead picture. And actually that’s in the wheelhouse. I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan [Raimi] when he comes up next week.“

Neil Patrick Harris Rules

Filed under: Celebrities, Movies, TV — Scott King at 1:03 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

I watched “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay,” (which was better than I expected), and I realized when watching that Neil Patrick Harris makes anything he’s in better. He just pulls off this hilarious cocky/snide personality that is not on par yet, but if he keeps honing his skills them maybe one day it could be up there with Shatner’s cocky personality.

King of Kong

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 1:03 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

“King of Kong” is the greatest documentary I’ve ever seen. It’s about a guy trying to beat the high score in “Donkey Kong” and I know that sounds boring, but it is absolutely amazing. What makes it so great is the people. They are quirky and weird as if they stepped out of “The Office” or “Juno.” Specifically the villain of the piece is such an asshole that you can’t help but root for his failure. Even if you hate documentaries (like me) then you need to swallow your hatred just this once and give “King of Kong” a chance. You won’t be sorry.

Super High Me

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 1:03 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Wow what total piece of crap, though what do you expect with a title like “Super High Me.” Not only is the production quality total shit but unlike “Super Size Me” which this is clearly mocking, this horrible horrible documentary left out any kind of science with its study. It’s basically a guy getting stoned… A LOT. The worse of it is that the guy is a well known comedian and the movie isn’t remotely funny.

Jesus Camp

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 1:03 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

“Jesus Camp” was a crazy good documentary simply because it was so freaking scary. It’s about these super-religious people who brainwash their kids, so when I say “scary” I mean like “Children of the Corn” type of scary. When watching it, part of you is like “Oh my god this is nuts!” and the other part of you is like “Oh god those poor kids.” If you’re looking for a documentary to watch then you can’t go wrong with “Jesus Camp.”

Helvetica

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 1:03 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Saw “Helvetica” the documentary about the font. Yes… it’s a two hour movie about a FONT. Maybe I could have been content if it was like 45 minutes to an hour, but at 2 hours it totally lost my attention. Now of course if you are the kind of person who is really into documentaries or you have a better attention span than me, then maybe you’d really like “Helvetica.” Even though I was bored, I will say that the footage, interviews, and overall production value of the movie are high quality.

Hack the “Too Human” Demo

If you have an Xbox you can download the demo for “Too Human” and then trick it so that you can play all five classes. Simply unplug your Xbox from the internet, then go into your console and change the date for September 1st. This will unlock three classes. To unlock the final two, go to the class screen and tap the left-anaglog to the right.

90210 Marketing

Filed under: 90210 — Scott King at 7:12 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

The CW revealed its marketing campaign for “90210″ and I gotta say… I’m unimpressed. The posters for “Gossip Girl” are a billion times better than this. This just looks so bland.

Futurama: Bender’s Game

Filed under: Movies — Scott King at 7:12 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

The next “Futurama” movie will be titled “Bender’s Game” and will be released on November 4th. The movie involves Bender and crew playing a D&D type of game when all of a sudden they are all sucked into the game. It should be interesting to see the very sci-fi “Futurama” in a fantasy setting.

Shark Week Decorations

Debra Mooney (Grandma from “Everwood”) is joining the cast of “Pushing Daisies” for a reoccurring basis. She will play Chi McBrides chain smoking mother and we’ll learn that she’s the bad ass detective who taught her son all his skills.

Astronaut Says Aliens Exist

Filed under: News News — Scott King at 7:10 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

A former NASA Astronaut who has been to the moon is now saying that aliens exist and that the government has been covering them up for sixty years:

Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview in Birmingham, England, that sources at NASA who had had contact with aliens described the beings as “little people who look strange to us.” He said supposedly real-life ET’s were similar to the traditional image of a “small gray” — short, slight frame, large eyes and large head.

Kid Found at Hooters

Filed under: News News — Scott King at 7:10 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

A kid went missing at his daycare last week and police found him at a Hooters down the street. Seems to me the boy is a genuius:

Investigators are looking into how a young boy managed to slip out of a Denton day care center unnoticed, then cross two busy roads and end up a half-mile away at a Hooters restaurant on Tuesday afternoon.
