After the disaster of Micheal Phelps and James Franco, “Saturday Night Live” needs to bring in a host that can actually host. In fact I can’t even remember the last time “SNL” had an episode where they had more than two laughable skits. So I feel the need to recommend the following celebrities as hosts. Obviously these hosts may or may not be rating grabbers, but quality wise they would all shine compared to the people we’ve been seeing the past few years.

• William Shatner – hosted in ’86
• Bruce Campbell – never hosted
• Lauren Graham – never hosted
• Neil Patrick Harris – never hosted
• Bob Saget – hosted in ’95
• Mary-Louise Parker – never hosted
• Stephen Colbert – wrote for the show
• Jean Smart – never hosted
