“Smallville” meets “Cloverfeild”

Just finished watching this week’s episode of “Smallville” which is a blatant sweeps stunt that tries to mimic the feel of “Cloverfeild.” Of course instead of a building-sized-monster tearing up NYC its of Doomsday tearing apart Chloe’s wedding. The editing and camera angles were just as annoying as they were in “Cloverfeild,” so at least in that regard the producers succeeded.

As to the episode itself, it was flat out frustrating. First of all… I honestly don’t get why Chloe’s wedding would be in the Kent barn. That’s just weird. Second, the whole mind-wipe from a week before is very present. In fact it was so aggravating that I had to force myself to not fast forward through the episode.

On the plus side… at least it’s possible for viewers to follow the plot, unlike “Heroes” which stopped making sense a long time ago.

Obviously I havent seen this episode you are referring to yet, but I reckon this season of smallville has been a big improvement on last season. Starting to really enjoy it again. Any idea if its a 22 episode season? imdb has it at just 13 episodes!

This season has been better than last year… but that’s not saying much.

If I remember The CW may have bumped this season up to 24 episodes, but at the very least it’s 22. In fact with ratings holding as steady as they are it might even be back again next year. Not only is it one of CW’s best shows (in terms of ratings) but it kills in demographics for a thursday night timeslot.
