Streaming Video on Xbox and PS3

I absolutely love Hulu, but I have to admit that I hate watching it on my computer. So I was suprised to get an email about reviewing PlayON. A new program that lets you stream video to your Xbox 360 & Playstation 3. As long as you meet the system requirements it’s pretty simple to install. In fact you can get it up and running in a matter of minutes.

Although I love the being able to watch Hulu and several other sites on my TV, Play On isn’t perfect. The biggest issue is that after a 14 day trail they want you to pay $30 bucks to keep it. I don’t care who you are, that’s a pretty steep price for what the program does. Specially when you realize that you are stuck with “channels” that they add to it. For example if there is a site with a streaming RSS feed that you want to run to your xbox… there is no way for you to manually tell PlayOn to stream that feed. I’m sorry but if I’m paying $30 for something then I want some freedom and control.
