wowweek2
As I went into Week 2 of re-trying “World of Warcraft” I spent the first few days re-installing “Wrath of Lich King” to fix a majore glitch I was experiencing. So now that I was level 60 Death Knight with a working version of the game I went out into the world to kick some ass…death
Needless to say I got owned in less than five minutes. Apparently level 60 isn’t as bad ass as I thought it would be. Especially when I had starter gear and hadn’t realized I needed to spend all my talent points. After resurrecting myself I considered spending talent points, but opted not to. That stuff dangerous and needs proper research. Yet at the same time I just want to play the fricking game. I don’t want to spend time researching classes or whatever.

So what I decided to do was visit my old stomping ground from a year ago and finish the quests I never finished the first time trying out “World of Warcraft.” So I spent some time in Sentinel Hill and Lakeshire and quickly got annoyed. First there flipping “!” all over the place. I guess since I was level 60 all the quest were open for me, but to be honest it was too much to take in. My map was drenched with “!” and it was completely overwhelming. It really goes to show just how manipulative the game is… You get to an area. You work hard and level up. You bust butt and clear out all the quests in the area… then you get a quest that sends you to the next area and BOOM there are tons more redundant quest for you to do.

Not only did the number of “!” get on my nerves but I’m sick of the arrgo system in MMO’s. If I’m a freaking level sixty why the heck would a level 4 wolf attack me? And if I actually stop to kill the stupid thing shouldn’t I at the very least get like 1xp? And if you aren’t going to give me xp, then why make the stupid thing attack me to begin with? I was just out for a stroll trying to take in the sites and like every 10 steps some little monster would attack me for no reason.

So looking toward next week… maybe I’ll branch out and actually attempt to get to level 61? Maybe I’ll google the quests with the best storylines? Maybe I’ll be so annoyed with the “!” that I won’t even play a third week.  Only time will tell.
