iPad Sucks

So Apple’s big reveal is a larger version of the ipod touch that costs between $500 – $830, depending on if you go wi-fi or 3G? Lame. My Hackintosh netbook runs full snow leopard and only cost $300.

The Best iPad Tweets

January 28th, 2010 | by Scott King

ipad2
Totally stole this from Gizmodo:

  • tjakabon: “It surfs the web AND stops the bleeding.”
  • Gelatobaby: And you can use the giant QWERTY keyboard to get your period on the #iPad!
  • CarolBlymire: Is #apple making an iPad for light-flow days? Just wondering…
  • Trish1981: iPad? Really? All I can say is, I’m sticking with Always, bitches.
  • tremendousnews: So I can say “That chick is on her iPad” and not be called a pig? Thank you Apple.
  • melissapierce: iPad has changed “the conversation” from how we use tech in context to how we use tech as Kotex. (who named this thing?)
  • TwittsMcGee: I haven’t heard this many period jokes since I was forced to watch The View last month. #iPad
  • kathycacace: Okay, just one more. The iPad: protecting your data from embarrassing incidents.
  • Johnpapa: “64 gig iPad will forever be known as the heavy flow model.”

And of course here were my own comments on the subject:

  • “The screen on the iPad really isn’t that big. I hope they come out with a double sized maxi-iPad.”
  • “If I’m understanding Steve Jobs right, the iPad absorbs information on those heavy data flow days.”
  • “I wonder if Tampax will release an app to make the iPad extra absorbent.”
  • “If you and your friends all buy one, will they sync up?”
  • “Can I get a scented iPad for when my data feels not-so-fresh?”

“Fringe” Steals from “X-Files,” AGAIN

fringeblackoil
Seriously? Like “Fringe” hasn’t already stolen enough from “X-Files,” now they have a rip-off of The Black Oil?! What the hell! I’m seriously considering dropping the show.

Every week is a bad freak-of-the-week episode and if they ever touch on the overall mythos of the series it’s lightly or simply revisiting info we already know. What happened? “Fringe” had sooo much potential.

What Happened to “Bones?”

January 27th, 2010 | by Scott King
Posted In: TV

Bones used to be one of those shows I enjoyed. It was funny and more character driven. However every freaking episode this season has been some sort of weird stunt episode. The “Avatar” episode was bad enough but did they realllyyyy need to do one trying to prove if JFK was killed by one or two shooters? No, they didn’t.

What is going on with “24.” The show is getting so filled with filler that they should rename it “Flash Forward.”

damages
I have to confess that it too me three times to make it through last night’s season premiere. I always forget that “Damages” is one of those shows you can’t fast forward or simply have on in the background. You NEED to watch it. And HOLY CRAP! “Planet Hulk” Review

January 26th, 2010 | by Scott King

planethulk
I really enjoyed the “Planet Hulk” book so I expected to hate the animated movie, however the cartoon turned out to be pretty entertaining. For obvious reasons, the movie isn’t as dark as the book, but I was still surprised by the amount of blood and gore.

Even better is that the movie isn’t an hour and thirty minutes of bad fighting (like that stupid “Wolverine Vs.” movie). The plot stays true to the book and the time is taken to really flesh out the supporting cast. Overall, “Planet Hulk” was a fun watch. I don’t know if I’d recommend buying it, but it’s definitely worth renting if you’re a fan of the book.

“Modern Warfare 2″ Infinite Airdrop Glitch

January 26th, 2010 | by Scott King

mw2airdrop
There is now a glitch in “MW2″ that allows players to drop an infinite number of care packages. So once again the game has become unplayable. What the hell? First it was the javelin glitch, then private matches, then infinite ammo, then super speed and now this? Basically the game hasn’t been playable for months and it’s seriously frustrating. It’s gotten so bad that I don’t even play anymore because it’s impossible to get into normal glitch-free games.

“Greek” returns tonight on ABC Family and  is an amazing show. If you like a mix of comedy with romance and angst there is nothing better on TV. It’s simply fun. So if you’ve not checked it out, tonight is a great night do so!

“The Deep End” Review

January 25th, 2010 | by Scott King

the-deep-end
The pilot of “The Deep End” was bad. The whole thing felt ridiculously contrived as if the show were trying way too hard to be “Grey’s Anatomy.” Plus not a single character was likeable or relateable. Then if you factor in the rattings it got, it’s looking like there is no chance in hell it will get a second season. Avoid “The Deep End.”
