I’ve never tied photographing soup or anything liquidy so this was an interesting. I think it might have looked better if I drained it a tad more cause as is you can’t really see any of the beans.
As for the plating I had no idea what to do. I really need to buy some blue table clothes or place mates. This here is a neon blue poster board that’s faded out due to the shallow depth of field I used, but even so I think it’s too over powering. I also think an earthier colored bowl might have done the chili more justice than the bland white one.
For lighting I shot this from behind with a soft box and had reflectors in the front.
