Secret Signings!

IMG_1067 copy
We’ve been slowly getting to know Houston. It’s about 35 minutes north of our new place and we’ve gone into the city almost every other weekend.¬†Last Saturday we hit up multiple Barnes & Nobles, local book stores, and a bunch of gaming and comic book shops.

We had two main goals. The first is that we were hunting for a nice clean local game store that had meet ups. We didn’t have any luck on that front. Lots of nice stores but nothing with regular gaming.

The other thing we were seeing was which stores had Holiday Wars in stock. A lot more had it than I expected and every time we found a copy I signed it. So if you are in Houston there is a good chance that you can find a secret signed copy of the book!

Holiday Wars: Slapfest Print & Play!

slugfest unpub
Since last summer we’ve been developing a Holiday Wars game called Slugfest. The alpha prototype hit up multiple play testers in different states and in the past week I made the beta prototype. My goal is to make another round of tweaks before showing it off at BGG Con next month.

You can help me get the game ready by play testing Slapfest, the micro-version of Slugfest! Simply visit here and download the PnP (Print & Play) file. Slapfest uses less components and is about twenty minutes faster, but the core mechanics are the same. So any feedback you can give me for Slapfest could really help out with Slugfest. To submit feedback, all you have to do is return to the Unpub site and click that giant button that says “Record Feedback.” It’s all online and no registration is required!

Note: This is an unfinished prototype so there will still be some bumps and hiccups, but that’s the whole point of play testing!

Holiday Wars at GenCon!

I was supposed to go to GenCon, but with moving to Texas this week, I had to cancel. However “Holiday Wars” will be there! If you track down the Th3rd World booth in Authors Avenue you’ll be able to snag a copy of the graphic novel. Also Darrell Louder, the amazing designer of Compounded, has a secret Holiday Wars game prototype. If you happen to bump into him, let him know that you’d like to check it out.

Holiday Wars Sold Out at Diamond!

Crazy exciting news… “Holiday Wars Volume 1: The Holiday Spirit” sold out at Diamond! That’s simply amazing and I had no idea that we were even close to selling out.

For now, the book is still on Amazon so it’s not too late to get a copy, though as of the time that I’m writing this post, Amazon is almost sold out of their stock too!

Note: For those of you who don’t know, Diamond is our distributer and the only distributer for getting comics into bookstores and comic shops.
