Quick Note for those who don’t follow me on social media: Lisa, myself, our house and pets are all safe. We were lucky and had no flooding in our home.

The flooding due to Harvey was unreal, like something from a disaster movie. Something so crazy that you don’t think it could happen in real life. For comparison, the Chesapeake Bay is estimated to hold 18 trillion gallons of water. Harvey dumped 27 trillion gallons of water onto Texas. That means one and a half Chesapeake Bays were poured onto Texas. That is an insane amount of water!

It’s been weeks and yet flood waters are still receding in our area. It seems almost every day new people get to return home to try and salvage what is left.

This is Edit. She is the alpha-pet. Both of our 100lb dogs submit to her. She is super smart (unlike our other cat who is NOT smart) and today she turns 10 years old!

She was with me in DC for grad school. She knew my dad before he died. She’s driven with me to Cleveland to visit my best friend. She was there when Lisa and I moved in together. She tolerated living in Delaware and now that we are in Texas she misses Delaware. She is full of personality and is simply awesome.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I wrote this four years ago for a Valentine’s Day Blind Comic Date event where authors were randomly paired with artists. It’s one my favorite Valentine’s Day things I’ve written and that’s saying a lot since Valentine’s Day is an actual character in Holiday Wars!

Merry Holidays!

If there is one message I’d like to share, it’s that make sure you start your new year with the ones you love. No matter what hemisphere, religion, or country you live in, I hope the next few weeks are awesome for you and that you get quality time with family and friends.

Merry Holidays from me and of course the whole “Holiday Wars” team!
