Captainmal
For the Halloween episode of “Castle,” Nathan Fillion dressed up as “Firefly’s” Captain Mal. Then he went to a graveyard and made a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reference. AWESOME!

I’m very biased, but I can’t help but love this 6 minute mash-up of Buffy vs “Twilight’s” Edward

“Buffy The Vampire Slayer” Without Whedon?!

Filed under: Buffy, Movies, TV — Scott King at 6:21 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2009

I now understand the word “blasphemy.” The director of the 1992 “Buffy” movie wants to do a reboot and turn “Buffy” into a movie franchsie. Whedon is not on board and a reboot would completely ignore the TV show and comics.

According to Reuters, the goal would be to “make a darker, event-sized movie” with “franchise potential.” The story would follow a new vampire slayer who must step up to protect the new generation. Kuzui says the the new movie will hopefully take “Buffy into a new place.” The parties won’t rule out Whedon’s involvement, but are currently meeting with writers and hearing pitches.

A New “Buffy” Movie?!

Filed under: Buffy, Movies, TV — Scott King at 1:02 pm on Monday, December 1, 2008

The internet is going crazy! I got 10 emails this past weekend about people asking me if there is going to be a new “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” movie. The rumor is that the box office gross of “Twilight” has caused FOX to consider bringing Buffy back to the big screen and that Joss Whedon already has a script ready to go. The source of these rumors is The Australian Herald Sun newspaper, so we probbally can’t believe them, but that doesn’t mean its wrong to hope.

Amy Acker joins “Dollhouse”

Filed under: Buffy, TV — Scott King at 7:44 am on Friday, April 18, 2008

She’s no Emma Claulfield or James Marsters, but I’m still super happy about buffy-verse-vet Amy Acker joining Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse.” Whedon made the announcement only yesterday via a comment on his blog:

Dr. Claire Saunders will be played by… yet another name I’m gonna have trouble remembering how to spell… Amy Acker. All in all, pound for pound, soup to nuts, man vs beas, it’s a pretty amazing ensemble. I’m not sure how I landed this troupe, but rest assured I’m gonna write bestest good word for talk talkacting to them! They’re in good hands.

Dr. Claire Saunders, the smart yet sad looker-after of the dolls who may or may not have a crush on nerdy programmer.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” & Buffy’s Lesbian Fun

Filed under: Buffy, TV — Scott King at 12:05 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2008

I’m a huge fan of “Buffy” and it is one of my all time favorite shows. I have the comics, but haven’t read them yet because I wanted to re-watch all seven seasons of the show first (currently on Season Seven Disc 3) so I can’t speak too much on the comics and how they are. However I just HAVE to comment on Buffy trying out some girl on girl fun.

Having recently watched all 7 seasons of the show, I don’t think its too out of character for Buffy to experiment. Every single one of her relationships with men have been horrible. So as long as this Lesbian Fun isn’t merely a sweeps stunt I don’t have a problem with it. Joss Whedon (although he didn’t write this arc) is over seeing the series like he oversaw the show. So for now, I have no problem having faith in him in making sure that this wasn’t stunt to boost sales.
