“Dollhouse” Finale was Meh

Finally got around to watching the “Dollhouse” finale. Overall it was about par with the series. Although I’m a huge Whedon fan, I’m not sorry to see the series go.

So there is really no hope for “Dollhouse” getting a third season, but last Friday’s episode was by far the best episode that’s aired on Fox (the best being the DVD exclusive “Epitaph One”).
Why was it so good? Sure there was some mythos and some backstory, but it was the character conflict that was AWESOME. Topher having a moral dilemma brought a whole new side to the character, but seeing the emotional arc of Sierra is what made the episode. I wish EVER episode was as well written as “Belonging” was.

Last night ratings for “Dollhouse” are a kiss of death. No way in hell it’s getting a back 9 pick-up. Fox may not even air all 13 episodes.

I don’t know how I feel about the “Dollhouse” premiere. The last few episodes of season 1 were good & “Epitaph One” was freaking amazing. So in a sense the premiere was a step backwards.
That being said, how absolutely fabulous was Amy Acker? She hands down stole the episode.

It’s official. “Dollhouse” will be back for 13 epiodes next season.

In it’s second week the show lost 15% dropping down to 4.2 million viewers (1.7 preliminary adults 18-49 rating/7 share). I’m pretty sure the show is going to get canceled. So if you are a Whedoon die ahrd or one of the few fans of the show… start preparing.

“Dollhouse” only got a 2.0/6.6 share on Friday. Oddly enough, even though those are abismal ratings, it scored second in it’s target demographi and third for the night. So then once you take into consideration that “Dollhouse” will be using those expensive “Fringe”-style commercials, there is still a small chance the show will make it to a second season.

The original script for the “Dollhouse” pilot is now online (as are scripts for other pilots).

Last week it was announced that “Dollhouse” is going on a two week break. Normally this is a very bad sign for a TV show, like how “24″ has done it about 8 times for the new season. However, being a Joss Whedon fan, I choose to believe the official story that Whedon was so busy directing the first two episodes that he wanted to take two weeks to do re-writes on the fourth script.

Galatica’s Helo joins Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse.”
Whedon has tapped Galactica stud Tahmoh Penikett (aka Helo) to play Eliza Dushku’s “twisted romantic foil” in Dollhouse, a spokesperson for Twentieth Television confirms.
The pilot of the series is supposed to have 12 “larger” roles with 3-4 main roll. So even though he’s cast about 5 actors there is still plenty of room for other Buffy/Angel vets. Man I’d love to see Emma Claulfield and James Marsters as series regulars.
