Denny’s Return

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV — Scott King at 12:01 pm on Monday, November 17, 2008

I only knew about Jeffery Dean Morgan returning to “Grey’s Anatomny” a week before it happened and even now I don’t know for how long he’s going to be sticking around, but I feel the need to say that I don’t like it. I loved the Denny/Izzy relationship and think the show went downhill after he was killed, but it seriously pisses me off that they brought him back because as Izzy said herself, she is either crazy or sick. Since the show is a medical drama and not “Supernatural” my money is on a brain aneurism and although it’s nice to see Denny, the whole thing feels like one big sweeps stunt and a slap in the face to the fans. So shame on you Shonda Rimes. Shame on you!

“Lost” & “Grey’s Anatomy” Gain Extra Hour!

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, Lost, TV — Scott King at 10:56 am on Monday, April 14, 2008

The producers of “Lost” convinced ABC that the 2-hour season finale really needs to be 3 hours long. They also insisted that the final 2 hours HAD to air back-to-back. Because of this, ABC had to re-do their may schedule and decided to give us an extra hour of “Grey’s.” The schedule looks like this:

May 15
8 pm: Ugly Betty
9 pm: Grey’s Anatomy
10 pm: Lost (part 1 finale)

May 22
8 pm: Ugly Betty finale
9-11 pm: Two-hour Grey’s Anatomy finale

May 29
8 pm: Lost encore (part 1 finale)
9-11 pm: Two-hour Lost finale

New Love on “Grey’s”

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV — Scott King at 10:53 pm on Sunday, November 18, 2007

So how did everyone feel about Patrick Dempsey’s new love interest on “Grey’s Anatomy?” The “invisible” nurse, who is being described as the “anti-Meredith,” introduced in a seriously annoying way. Just like Nikki and Paolo from “Lost” its seriously annoying when TV shows introduce a character and “pretend” the character was a background character we just didn’t see before.

Joshua Jackson No Longer on “Grey’s Anatomy”

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, WGA Strike — Scott King at 10:59 am on Wednesday, November 14, 2007

A while back, I posted about Joshua Jackson joining the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy,” but that won’t be happening now because of the WGA Strike. However I did find out that this multi-episode arc didn’t have him hooking up with Meredith as most people thought. Instead he was meant to play a love interest for Christina!

Grey’s Anatomy Cast Supports Writers

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV, WGA Strike — Scott King at 7:51 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2007

The cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” spent their lunch break today by joining their writers on the picket lines yelling the chant’s “Hey, hey! Ho, ho! Management can’t write the show!” and “Webisodes and DVD, we won’t write ‘em, not for free!” Just about every major cast member was there: Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, T.R. Knight, Katherine Heigl, Eric Dane, Sara Ramirez, Brooke Smith, Justin Chambers and James Pickens, Jr.

In an interview with E! Heigl had this to say:

“The thing is, I watch a lot of TV on the internet. I download everything, including my own stuff, when I’m sitting at home, when I’m on set, I can watch it on my laptop for free on ABC.com, or NBC.com or any of the sites. And they’re definitely putting in commercials, they’re putting in big blocks of advertising time and they’re making money off re-airing these episodes online. When an episode airs more than once on television, the actors and the writers and the directors get residuals for that. And right now, the studios are allowed to repeat these shows online for the people that didn’t catch them the night before without giving out a fair share of the profits.”

Katherine Heigl is a Smoker

Filed under: Celebrities, Grey's Anatomy — Scott King at 11:05 am on Monday, October 29, 2007

Ewwwww just found out “Knocked Up” and “Grey’s Anatomy” actress Katherine Heigl is a smoker. She always comes off so cool and sensible in interviews. Plus she’s pretty! So it’s a shame that on a 1-10 scale she’s now a negative infinity.

Season 4 “Grey’s Spoilers”

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV — Scott King at 10:53 am on Friday, August 3, 2007

Thursday-Greys-Anatomy.jpg
“Grey’s Anatomy” is getting a fairly big revamp from what was originally planned for this up coming season. The two biggest changes are as follows:

Elizabeth Reaser, who played the Jane Doe, memory loss woman last season was supposed to be off the show, but Shonda Rhimes at the 11th hour decided to bring her back. Her new arc will last for several episodes but no word yet on how many exactly.

For those of you who love George with Izzie… well bad news. Shonda Rhimes, like most of America, hates having the two together. Rhimes says she had them hook up because the characters are flawed and now that they’ve made their mistake, she can end the relationship.

Shonda Rhimes on Isaiah Washington

Shonda-Rhimes1.jpg
I’ve posted over and over again about the whole Isaiah Washington scandal on “Grey’s Anatomy” but it seems Shonda Rhimes (the shows creator) finally broke her silence. In an interview with TV Guide she really tears into Washington:

So the decision to fire Isaiah was not something that was imposed on you?
Rhimes: The great thing about [ABC Studios head] Mark Pedowitz and [ABC president] Steve McPherson is they never imposed anything on me.

So you agreed with the decision?
Rhimes: Of course I did.

When was the moment when you realized, ‘You know, we’re going to have to make a change here?’
Rhimes: Again, I feel like this is stuff that happened in our family, and I don’t want to give specifics on sort of how and what happened. But there was a moment when I was sure and felt good and comfortable about the decision and that it was the right decision to be made for everybody.

Edward Herrman on “Grey’s Anatomy”

We may not get to see Daddy-Gilmore anymore since “Gilmore Girls” is canceled, but I’m excited because Edward Herrmann has been signed to do a guest arc on “Grey’s Anatomy.” He’ll appear in at least three episodes and will play a doctor. No other details are being shared at this time.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Cast Is Here To Stay

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV — Scott King at 12:46 am on Wednesday, June 20, 2007

The only main cast member leaving “Grey’s Anatomy” is Isaiah Washington. I’m getting flooded with emails of people saying things like “Oh I hear George isn’t coming back” or “Callie got fired too!” Even my own Sister is spreading rumors that cast members aren’t coming back! So let me make this clear:

ONLY ISAIAH WASHINGTON (of the main cast) IS LEAVING THE SHOW!

“Grey’s Anatomy” Fires Isaiah Washington

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV — Scott King at 8:53 am on Friday, June 8, 2007

isaiah_washington_01.jpg
“Grey’s Anatomy” did not renew Isaiah Washington’s contract, firing him from the show. He was informed yesterday in a phone call from executive producer Shonda Rhimes that he would be leaving. The rest of the cast was told later in the day.

Isaiah Washington’s publicist later released a single statement saying:

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

It us unknown if the statement is meant as a joke, sarcastically, or what, but it is a reference to the 1976 film, “Network.”

Washington’s character, Dr. Burke, disappeared in the last minutes of the season finale after he left his fiancé at the alter. So his departure from the show will not be hard to explain.

The firing comes from a year of drama that started last fall when Washington and Patrick Dempsey nearly came to blows after Washington dropped the homosexual F-bomb when talking about T.R. Knight. He later lied about it and made the whole situation worse during Shonda Rhimes acceptance speech at the Golden Globes.

Shonda Rhimes on Grey’s Finale

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TV — Scott King at 11:02 am on Monday, June 4, 2007

Over at the “Grey’s Anatomy” blog, executive producer Shonda Rhimes has posted a whole speil about the season finale. She goes into depth about how this season was about “burning down the house” with all the characters.

So that’s it.? That was our season.? I did my level best to burn it all down this season, to burn it to the ground so that we can have a place to build from next season.? Burning it down was hard.? But next season…oh, next season is all about the fun and the pain and the new beginnings.? Because our interns are going to become residents.? Because everyone is single again — well, there is the little matter of Izzie and George and Callie…but still… …the future is wide open, people.

Unless you’re a big Grey’s fan you probally don’t want to go to the link ‘cause the post is HUGE. However if you are a fan, reading the post will give you some insight to things like why George failed the exam, why he cheated, why Meredith’s mom was killed and billion other things.
