I Quit “Heroes”

I was leaning toward it, and the two hour premiere convinced me that “Heroes” is no longer worth watching. The show has become utter trash and with the ratting it pulled in, there is no way NBC will end up renewing it for another season. It may even get pulled before finishing its urrent episode run.

“Heroes” uses Hayden Panettiere’s Cleavage

I’ve been on the fence trying to decide if I would watch “Heroes” this season, since last year was as bad as “90210″ and “Nip/Tuck,” and NBC’s new PR poster with way too much Hayden Panettiere is telling me it’s time to walk away.

Bryan Fuller Quits Heroes

Filed under: Heroes, Pushing Daisies, TV — Scott King at 1:01 am on Wednesday, June 24, 2009

After “Pushing Daisies” was wrongfully canceled, series creator Bryan Fuller made the jump to NBC “Heroes.” Apparently things weren’t happy behind the scenes because he’s already quit!

No “Heroes” Panel at Comic-Con

Filed under: Heroes, TV — Scott King at 12:36 am on Monday, June 15, 2009

Ever since “Heroes” premiered there has been a “Heroes” panel at Comic-Con, but not this year. Instead of a panel with the cast, the shows Creator plans to simply show a preview of season 4. Why the change? It most likely has to do with budget cuts after a sub-par season 3.

“Heroes” Fires Another Producer

“Heroes” let go Greg Breeman(on the left), a producer/director of the show who has been around since the first season and also runs the popular “Beaming Beeman” blog:

You see, I will not be returning to HEROES for Season 4. Ultimately this was a financially motivated decision made by NBC. They no longer want to have a Producer/Director position on the show. But it coincides well with my own innate wanderlust, and so, while sad to leave so many friends and comrades, I am excited for the future.

Heroes Renewed for 18 Episodes

Filed under: Heroes, TV — Scott King at 4:20 pm on Monday, April 27, 2009

It’s official. “Heroes” will be back. Instead of 25 episodes, like the current season, the show will only run for 18 episodes. Too bad they didn’t cancel and spin it off instead.

“Heroes” Still Sucks

I was 9 episodes behind in “Heroes.” I had stopped watching just before the multi-part “Eclispse” episodes. However I finally got caught up and WOW. The show really has gotten bad. The dialog is attrocacious to the point that I feel every word spoken should have an exclamation point after it like the orignal “Secret Wars.” Then the characterization and plots make the attrocation event comics of the 90’s look well written.  What happened to the show?  After the first season it really had a lot of potential, but instead of focusing on characters they made cheesey twists and bad plot the focus. It’s a shame cause unfortuantly it represents all the bad aspects of the super-hero genre without highlighting any of the good things.

Bryan Fuller on what went wrong with “Heroes”

Filed under: Heroes, TV — Scott King at 8:13 am on Thursday, December 11, 2008

EW has a great interview
with Pushing Daisies regarding his return to “Heroes” and what exactly went wrong witht he show:

It became too dense and fell into certain sci-fi trappings. For instance, in the “Villains” arc, when you talk about formulas and catalysts, it takes the face off the drama. And I think the goal for everybody is to put a face back on the drama. You have to save something with a face; otherwise you don’t understand what you’re caring about.

John Glover, (formely Lionel Luther on “Smallville”) is comming to “Hereos” at the end of the “Fugitive” storyline. He will play Sylar’s and no word yet on how long he will be sticking around. Also durring Febuary sweeps he’ll be showing up on “Brother’s and Sisters” for a multiple episode arc as Saul’s gay boyfriend.

Bryan Fuller back to “Heroes?”

Filed under: Heroes, Pushing Daisies, TV — Scott King at 11:13 am on Thursday, December 4, 2008

The rumors have been swirling, but with “Pushing Daisies” being axed it seems Bryan Fuller may be going back to “Heroes.”  He had said as much several months ago, but it seems like the move may actually happen.

Fuller, who is wrapping post-production on the final episodes of “Daisies’” 13-episode second-season order, would officially come on board “Heroes” starting with Episode 20. His exact role though is undetermined though he’s expected to play a key role in the writers room alongside showrunner Tim Kring.

Top 5 Ways To Know “Heroes” Sucks

Filed under: Heroes, TV — Scott King at 11:13 am on Thursday, December 4, 2008

You know “Heroes” sucks because…

  • 5) You are rooting for the end of the world so that all the characters will be killed.
  • 4) You watch “90210″ on your DVR before you even think about watching “Heroes.”
  • 3) The Spider-Man Clone Saga and 90’s comics in general make more sense than the plot on “Heroes.”
  • 2) Your 6 year old pitched a superhero premise that was better than “Heroes.”
  • 1) Time Kring is still executive producer of “Heroes.”

How to Spin-Off “Heroes”

Filed under: Heroes, TV — Scott King at 12:06 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2008

I was inspired by the “Heroes” rant over at Pop Candy to try and come up with ways on how “Heroes” could be fixed, but the more and more I thought about it, the more and more I realized that the once interesting show has past the point of no return. Nothing can be done to save it.

So I want to propose an alternative to NBC: Do a spin-off! Below I have compiled the most basic of premises that would be a billion times more interesting then the show that’s currently on air: (Read on …)

Pop Candy Trashes “Heroes”

I so love Whitney’s rant about “Heroes” where she goes on to quote how places like TVGuide and EW have also joined the hate band wagon.

Is this show intentionally trying to alienate viewers? Why do characters behave a certain way in one episode and then do a complete 360 the next week? Why won’t anyone stay dead? Why do some of these storylines sound like they were invented by fourth graders during recess?

The eclipse arc, Hiro’s boyish mind — what’s the point of it all? And come on, what was up with last night’s final scene between Sylar and Elle?

I just don’t get it. My confusion and sadness are transforming into rage. Each week I watch with hope only to be greatly disappointed.
