What the heck? Why did CNN have Dunder Mifflin on their front page?

There have been utterly horrible episodes of “The Office,” but last week’s may have been the all time worst. The whole episode focused on Micheal, Dwight, and Andy mistaking an insurance salesman for a mobster. Not only was it too over the top, even for the character of Micheal Scott, it wasn’t even close to being funny.
I think where things went wrong is that “the mafia” story-line is something that normally would have appeared as a sub-plot in an episode (sometimes called the b-storyline). So when it was bumped up to fill the main arc of the episode it didn’t have enough substance to carry the episode. Also where was Kelly and Angela? Both are strong characters that have carried plot-lines in the past.

Scranton, PA is upping their ties to “The Office” by now offering a Fan Tour.
The four-hour tour begins at the Mall at Steamtown and ends at Poor Richards Pub. Tour includes places made famous by “The Office” such as Farley’s, The Bog, Paper Magic, Cooper’s, Penn Paper building, Alfredo’s, and Lake Scranton. Includes full lunch at Coopers and local brews and wine with 21+ ticket.
It’s only $35 bucks. Too bad I don’t have any friends as dorky as me who’d want to do this.

Want Jim’s ringtone of Dwight saying, “idiot idiot idiot” (from last week’s episode)? Get it here.

Nikki Finke got his hands on an internal report and apparently NBC’s non-office spin-off really sucks:
I say “supposed” because there are problems galore in the rough-cut pilot, according to a March 18th-dated “Consumer And Market Intelligence Research Summary” which I saw this weekend. Considering the show starts airing April 9th, can Parks And Recreation get fixed in time? You be the judge: here are some excerpts from the 12-page report…
Finke then gives some excerts from the report so if you are curious, make sure you go to the link above.

Less than a week before it was supposed to premier, Amy Poehler’s non-spin-off of “The Office” was finally named. It will be now known as “Public Service” and instead of airing after the Super Bowl it will debut in April after an episode of “The Office.” The show will center around Poehler as a a mid-level government official named Leslie Knope.

NBC has put together a pretty lame flash game based off “The Office” episode where Dwight and Andy have a duel.

NBC announced yesterday that they were picking up “The Office” and “30 Rock” for another season. Since the majority of their shows place last in rattings this is clearly a “no duh” move. The NBC shows I’m actually worried about are “Chuck” and “Friday Night Lights.”

Nelson released the first week of their DVR stats and it seems that “Fringe” is the most DVR’d show on television, which gained 20% more viewers! Other shows who did well include “Hereos” (gained 19% more viewers), “House” (gained 18% more viewers), “The Office (gained 17% more viewers) and “Grey’s Anatomy” who with DVR stats makes it the most watched show on TV with a total of 21.16 million viewers.

That was quick. At up-fronts an “Office” spin-off was announced. Just this week it broke (she even confirmed it herself) that Amy Poehle would be staring in the show. But turns out now that the show’s producer refuses to do an actual “spin-off” and is instead making a show with the similar tone.

How is this for a return-scoop: Amy Poehler has signed to star in the spin-off of “The Office.” She’ll play Micheal Scott’s counterpart at her branch and the show will premier after next year’s Superbowl. Pretty much all other details are either being kept secret or haven’t even been decided by the producers.
This is the Japanese version of “The Office” from last weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.”

NBC is now selling Serenity by Jan candles:
Nothing says ”serenity” quite like Wide Awake, and Bonfire, just two of the four scents that make up Jan’s Serenity Candles, Volume 1. Cinnamon Kiss and New Milk round out the set.

NBC announced their full primetime schedule today. Biggest changes include SNL doing a Thursday night political show, “the office” spin-off, and “Knight Rider” airing on Wednesdays. I’ve posted the full line-up after the break… ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
